In the newest issue, PinDrop® founder Tim Elinski recounts a four-day journey along the legendary El Camino del Diablo, one of the most remote and historic routes in the American Southwest. The article explores the challenges, scenery, and rewards of traveling through this rugged desert landscape while highlighting the importance of self-sufficient, off-grid adventure.

PinDrop® can be strategically planted in a remote campsite near any trailhead. This guarantees access to amenities and the ability to go farther and stay out longer. Imagine returning from a backcountry hiking trip, still hours or even days from civilization with access to a hot shower, nourishing hot food, comfortable sleeps, and a stellar view.

For a location tucked away in the forest, the turnout was remarkable. A special thank-you goes to everyone who reached out for the coordinates, navigated the dirt roads, followed the discreet cairns, and made the effort to join us in the wild for a true camping experience. Seeing so many owners and future owners around camp was one of many highlights of the weekend.

I completed a 1,500-mile trip through Southern Arizona and into western New Mexico, traveling across five Arizona counties and camping for nine nights along the way. The route was designed to explore mining history, Spanish colonial-era sites, and remote backroads across the region, while also testing the ability to travel and camp comfortably in isolated areas in our PinDrop Travel Trailer.

On May 13th from 6-8 p.m., PinDrop® will once again set up at Peace Outfitters for the official Overland Expo West Pre-Event Showcase. Set right in the heart of downtown Flagstaff, Arizona this gathering offers a more approachable and personal environment than the scale of the Expo itself. It’s a chance to get up close and personal with a PinDrop® Travel Trailer, and talk shop with Founder Tim.

Something different is happening this year, and it’s being built around our PinDrop® customers. Not a booth. Not a display. Not something to walk past, but something to be part of. During Overland Expo West weekend May 14-16, while the main grounds fill with crowds and polished builds, a group of PinDrop® Stewards will be setting up camp just outside it all: intentional, personal, and removed from the bustle. El Camino del Diablo —The Devil’s Highway— is the latter. A scorched corridor of desert stretching across the Arizona–Sonora border, it has tested explorers, migrants, soldiers, and surveyors for centuries. It is a place where water determines survival, silence carries weight, and preparation is not optional. In the coming weeks, PinDrop® Founder Tim Elinski will travel this historic route alongside media and collaborators, not to conquer it, but to listen to it.

El Camino del Diablo is an historic road shaped by time, endurance, and struggle.
